Image> Crop to Selection

Shortcut Key:- Ctrl+Shift+X

Cropping is the process of removing portions of an design to create focus or strengthen the composition. This menu will apply only if a selection is active. It will keep the selected area while remaining part of the design will be removed. If the selection is either circle or oval, then the bounding rectangle around the selection will be active. It will keep the selected circle or oval part of the design and the pixels that were not in the selection will be made transparent.

A new design file after having clicked on the Crop to Selection menu item. Note that the bounding rectangle of the selection outline was used to determine the new image's size, but that any pixel that was outside of the selection was made transparent. Also, keep in mind that the checkerboard pattern is used to indicate areas of the image that are transparent. It is not actually part of the design.
